New DTF Printer: First-Week Checklist
How you set up and run a DTF printer in its first week sets the tone for its whole life. Get these right and you’ll avoid the most common early failures.

Setup
- Level the machine and give it a stable, clean environment
- Control humidity — dry air dries nozzles fast
- Install ink correctly and prime the system fully
- Set up your RIP, profiles and connection before your first real job
First prints
- Run a nozzle test — confirm every channel before production.
- Do color calibration and bi-directional alignment.
- Print test transfers and check wash/stretch durability.
Build the habits now
- Daily white-ink circulation from day one
- Startup nozzle test every day
- Regular cap-station and wiper cleaning
The shops that never call us for “dead white” are the ones that built these habits in week one.
